Below is an announcement about the National Advocate Credentialing
Program
(NACP). Please distribute to subgrantees and other victim advocates in
your
state. They should especially note the opportunity to be grandfathered.

==============
I'm very pleased to announce that the National Advocate Credentialing
Program (NACP) grandparenting program is now in place and ready to
accept
applications from advocates with 5+ years of experience in the field and
10+
years of experience in the field with no testing requirement. The
grandparenting portion of the program will be offered from July 2003
until
October 31, 2005. The credentialing portion of the program for
advocates
with less experience than 5 years in the field will be in place by
October
1, 2003.
Interested advocates may visit NOVA's website at www.try-nova.org and
click
on "National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP). If you downloaded
or
filled out a form prior to today's date (July 8, 2003), it was an
incorrect
form, so please use only the form that is available as of today's date.
The
program narrative, application, Professional Code of Ethics for Victim
Assistance Providers and other relevant forms may all be downloaded from
the
site and may be submitted in hardcopy format by mail or online (with
accompanying forms completed, signed and mailed in to the address
indicated.)
Please join NACP as professional credentialing at a national level for
the
