Details of the various FASTA downloads can be found on the "Downloads" 
page on the FASTA web site:

http://fasta.bioch.virginia.edu/fasta_www2/fasta_down.shtml

Although I notice that this needs to be updated for FASTA 36, since it 
refers the FASTA 35 as the current version.

For those who need FTP access the files are also mirrored to the 
EMBL-EBI FTP site:

ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/software/unix/fasta/

Which probably should be noted on the "Downloads" page, along with any 
other maintained mirrors of the distribution.
