On Wednesday, March 16th, at 4:00 p.m. in the Caplin Pavillion at the
University of Virginia Law School's Caplin Pavillion, the Law School will host
a Panel Discussion of "Courage to Dissent" the fascinating new book that
explores the Civil Rights Movement in the 1940's and 1950's as a ground-up
struggle focusing on developments in the African-American communities in
Atlanta and throughout the South. The Panel consists of Professors Tomiko
Brown-Nagin (Virginia, Author), Kenneth W. Mack (Harvard Law School), Risa
Goluboff (Virginia) and Anthony Alfieri (Univ. of Miami School of Law). A
Reception will follow.
Having read this excellent treatment of the Civil Rights Movement, I encourage
you to attend for what I predict will be a lively and informative discussion
of
this book and the Civil Rights Movement which inspired it.
I look forward to seeing you on the 16th.
